Hey Folks,
We're scrambling to get finished up in time today, so this is going to be a brief update. We did get some shipments in from Asia over the weekend, and restocked on Blood Parrots, some small Oscars, and got some 4 inch Peacocks from there as well. The peacocks are very nice, exceeded my expectations.
Flowerhorn (regular size) also came in extremely nice this batch. Some of the best looking regular sized ones I've seen come through with tons of color and some starting to get little baby humps already too.
Still had a handful of Pygmy Sunfish roll over to this week, so we left them on the stocklist marked as "limited", but got more Sunday so they're no longer limited, and should be filled all week long without much trouble.
**FROM THE FRIDAY EMAIL BELOW**
I'm sure the main question on everyone's minds right now is "How are the new tarriff's going to affect fish prices?". Short answer: We don't know yet. Longer answer: We have been on the phone with our suppliers overseas pretty much nonstop since the tariffs were announced. So far, we aren't sure exactly what's going to happen. Some countries are far higher than others, so there may be entire countries we can no longer afford to import from. There may be things we can do to mitigate the impact like sourcing certain fish through different countries than we've historically used. But again, at this moment in time, I currently have no definite answers for you unfortunately. We will need to just cross our fingers and see how things shape out in the next week or two. I will say though, that we do already have this upcoming week's import shipments already lined up, and so those are going through as normal no matter what. So you've got one more week of normality before we probably start seeing impacts in some form or another.
**personal opinion here***.... if I owned a store right now, I would think the smart thing to do would be placing an order with all of my suppliers this week and buying 3 or 4 times as much as I normally do. I would be "stocking up" on fish you know you'll need that come from overseas like guppies, mollies, platies, dwarf gouramis, all rasboras, all oscars (if you can find any), fancy shrimp, bichirs, sharks, loaches, etc. I would be finding whatever financially possible way I could to get some massive orders into the store.
The thing that most of you will probably be most excited about are likely to be the central/south American cichlids that came in. I've got a good number of large Green Terrors, roughly 5 inches. Great size and color. Also have for the first time in a couple years some True Festae (Red Terror) available at the small size. Also got in a good number of 5 inch Geo Heckelli, Geo Brasiliensis, and Red Devils. So we're pretty well stocked on big mean fish right now, especially if you're open to substitutions.
Bread and butter tetras are almost all running nice at the moment. Blue Kerri, Black Phantoms, and Buenos Aires are all running huge and super impressive. The black phantoms in particular are exceptional, I'd stock up on those while they're nice. Bloodfins are back in stock after being extremely hit or miss for the past few months. Red Eye Tetras are also back in stock and have been getting tough to keep in stock every week.
A lot of Livebearers are coming in fantastic too. XL Swordtails are back on the list, and while they're NOT really super huge, the price is only slightly higher than the standard mix so they're definitely worth the small markup. Dalmation and Creamsicle mollies are both arriving in good size lately and have been holding up well.
We didn't get a Colombia shipment last week, but we did have a couple vats of Punctatus cory cats from two weeks ago that became available to sell, and those are the best value cory we've got at the moment. Hifin greens are also available tank raised from Asia.
Ask your sales rep if you have any questions.

Pygmy Sunfish got restocked! I hit the motherlode collecting this past weekend, so I fully restocked us on these cute little gems. Mixed sex, but male heavy, and the males have awesome blue/green spots. I get a few weeks per YEAR to collect these, so grab them while you can. Once they're gone, they're going to be gone a while. These are extremely popular in fish clubs and for online retailers. Just get some good pictures or video of a nice male and they'll sell themselves. |

Medium Yellow Rainbow are a great alternative to Bosemani Rainbow if you want something slightly different that still packs a ton of color. |

I've said it a hundred times probably ,but Checkerboard Barbs are one of the most underrated barb species out there. Color is great, but they don't photograph well. Give them a try. |
Assorted Variatus are a good alternative to the normal Assorted Platy if you want to try something a little different. |
Blood Parrots are back in stock, but small. I'd guess about 1.5 inch body length. |
Select Gold Severums are running oversized. |
Blue Rams are getting more available again finally. We've been regularly in stock with them for a few weeks in a row now so I feel good mentioning them. |
Flagtail Prochilodus are about 5 inches, a great oddball large schooling fish. |
4" Imported Peacocks are super nice, haven't had these in a while at this size. They're not super juiced up either like the small ones always are from Asia, so these shouldn't fade nearly as much, if at all. They're big enough to color up and hold it naturally at this size anyway. |

This batch of Flowerhorns is actually fantastic! Some of the best little flowerhorns I've seen come through in a long time. Great time to stock up on these. |
Still have a couple 4 inch Trimac Cichlids left, and as you can see, they're perfect. I love the color on these. One of the few cichlids I could call "greenish" without lying. |

Got some Red Bearded Dragon babies on the list this week for honestly way, way too cheap. They're small babies, but for the price it honestly doesn't matter how big they are, you should be buying them blind at that point. Mud turtles are still available, and are the best pet turtle, bar none. Everybody wants sliders and painteds, but those get too big for tanks, while Muds stay under 5-6 inches max.
Also got restocked on Jumping Spiders, which are surprisingly popular. At Global Pet Expo, some of the major reptile dry goods venders were actually debuting Jumping Spider specific terrariums, so these are a huge deal nowadays.
