Hey Folks,
The locally bred discus are here now! I've got a picture of them below. Keep in mind, in America, it's illegal to feed the hormone food they use over in Asia to make fish color up artificially young, so these discus look like they naturally do at this size. Which is to say, they do have some color, especially in the dorsal fin, but the body is still filling in. Within a few more months they should look like the adults pictured below them. Also, they were raised in Florida tap water, meaning high PH and hard water. So this is a dream come true for anyone that's wanted discus that would hold up well for them without any special care. No 90% daily water changes with R.O. water needed. Just treat them like normal fish and they'll thrive for you. Limit of 3 per store, because we only have this one spawn to sell and we want to make sure everyone can get a few. I know it sucks if you wanted 6 or something, but trust me, without the limit your 6 would actually be zero, because the minute this email goes out, one of the online discus sellers would email us an order for 50 of them and then nobody would get any.
Got some more Pygmy sunfish for anyone looking for more! Ya'll keep wiping us out every week and we scratch them towards the end of the week, so I keep going to get more for you all. Have another decent sized batch to sell this week so we should be good through at least Wednesday I think.
Not a ton of other new things to mention that came in over the weekend, but there's enough cool stuff right now I think it's alright. Got our normal guppy restock and betta restocks that arrived yesterday. Restocked all the Florida bred bread and butter fish that ran out last Thursday, so those are good to go again for this week. Everything pictured in the Friday email is still applicable, like always, and i'd like to remind you that if you only ever look at this Monday email, you're missing the vast majority of our photos of what looks best for the week. I don't like doubling up on that stuff just 2 days apart, so go back and check the Friday email if you don't normally do that.
______________________FROM FRIDAY EMAIL____________________ We breathed a huge sigh of relief here this week when we got the news the tariffs got a 90 day hold for the worst of them. We hardly get any fish from China anymore anyway, so not much impact from the China part of that deal, luckily. The flat 10% tariffs are the only concern at the moment until the 90 day pause is over, and that's much more manageable with less impact. So for now, at least, it looks like the industry isn't dead. Hooray!
We did get plenty of imports in this week that have been lined up since last week so no disruption to incoming felt here. Colombia arrived, 2 asian countries, guppies from Sri Lanka, and the normal Florida stuff too.
Colombia has the most exciting fish, so I'll start there with the Arowanas, Prochilodus, Red Hooks, Chalceus, and bottom feeders. We also got a handful of really nice sized Albino Pacu that are farm-raised from Colombia. I wish nobody wanted to buy Pacu anymore, but they do, so we keep ordering them. Remind your customers these get like 30 pounds and 2 feet long and 1 foot "tall". Too big for any aquarium.
The most exciting thing this week to me are some locally bred discus! One of our employees has been breeding them at home for a while, and we bought some 4 inch sized "babies" from him which are ironically much larger than any other discus we've purchased from overseas in years. These are fully conditioned and healthy fish, your best chance to get nice discus from any supplier this week, I guarantee it.
Check out the pictures and writeups about the specifics below and give your rep a call if you have any questions

Still have some 2 inch "cobalt" discus as well letftover from last week. These are Asian Imports. |

Ya'll keep ordering them, so I keep going to get more! Thanks very much for your support on this! Pygmy Sunfish are still running nice size average. These will need Sera Micropellets or preferably live baby brine shrimp to eat, they will NOT eat flake food. Do best in planted tanks with little flow. |

 |
Brown Ghost Knives are great size right now, pushing 5-6 inches average. These do semi-OK together as well, not as aggressive towards each other as Black Ghosts are. |
|
 |
Got some HUGE FL Bred Cherry Barbs over the weekend. These will sell out this week for sure, and the replacements will likely be smaller. |
|
 |
EB Carpintis Escondidos are still here. One of the best looking Central American cichlids we get, the blue and green coloration is absolutely incredible. These do get extremely aggressive with other cichlids, espcially of similar shape or color, but tend to pretty much ignore tetras and other fish that are too big to eat. |

Medium Salvinis came in great size, almost as big as the 4 inch ones that are also on the list. I think the mediums are the better value for sure until those are gone. Tons of color in the belly and face. |

EB Ahlis. We bought them as "large" from a local breeder, but they're more like a "schmedium". They're on the specials page of the list in the limited fish section. While size isn't living up to the expectation, the color on the males that are transforming is great. |

4" Imported peacocks have been here for a few weeks now and we kept forgetting to mark them on the stock list. They still look as good as when they showed up, so the color doesn't seem to be fading on them like it does on the little guys. |
|
 |
Got a handful more of these big Hoplo Cats (list says 4-5 inch but they're morel like 7). These always sell out immediately. They're one of the best values on the list, honestly. We're selling them way too cheap. |

Reptile & Amphibian Highlights

Got a small reptile update this morning, but not much changed. I think the chameleons that sold out last week getting restocked is probably the most important change. They've been flying out every week, hard to keep up with the demand from the collectors. I think honestly back when Florida banned the collection and sale of the iguanas, a lot of those guys that collected iguanas and chameleons just quit entirely, instead of just collecting chameleons.
