Hey folks,
These are the weeks I live for. Electric Green Angels are launching and it coincides with a fantastic week of incoming. The much anticipated launch is finally here and no one will be disappointed. We have plenty of inventory to go around on these and they are WAY oversize since they have been growing like weeds since spring. Long term the seller size will be the typical "select" just like the the Starfire Reds but the first couple of batches are more like medium+. People have been blowing up our socials about when and where they can get these so the demand is definitely out there. These should most certainly add a spark to your summertime sales. And as I've mentioned in previous emails these pair great with the Starfire Red Angels so if you're limited on tank space they can go together and make for a very impressive display.
I could probably end the opening monologue there as I'm sure that will be the #1 item on everyone's orders this week but as I mentioned this was a fantastic week for incoming as well. If this wasn't a launch week the title card would have been my favorite item to come in from Colombia, Peacock Bass! Haven't had these in forever. These are very seasonal and there's not much telling how long they'll be around for when they pop up on the availability lists. I've even tried ordering them from the far east where they are being tank raised but that has been to no avail. But we have them now and they look great. Around 1.5-2" these will hold up fine so long as you keep them well fed. These will eventually take to frozen and prepared food items but for right now the name of the game is is keep them fat and happy so be dure to keep a school of live feeders on them like feeder guppies.
Also in this week's Colombia shipment are some L-106 Orange Seam Plecos which we have not had since probably this time last year. These are in no way shape or form the same as theL-81 Orange Seams that come in from Brazil. These are greenish in color with a faint honeycomb-like pattern and the name deserving orange trim around the fins. In addition to these we also got in some very nice "small" Royal Plecos. A lot of the individuals in this batch are solid medium size making them a fantastic value. For other bottom dwellers both Arcuatus (Skunk) and Melanistus Cories are running huge. BB Cats got their numbers reinforced. Still have a good amount of Silver Dollars available this week. Exodons are about as big as we ever see come in. Got two types of Pikes available including Belly Crawler and a handful of Proteus. And we are down to just a few Shoehead Cats so order soon before they are gone.
It's gonna be another week with heavy emphasis on Florida raised fish. I'll try to keep it brief here as there quite a few pics down below of lots o goodies. I'll start with Old Worlds first. Picked up a new supplier this week and they did not disappoint. I'll Start with what most people will be excited about and that's the XL Eureka Red Peacocks. This is one of the all time most popular species/variants for a long time for a reason. They are not a stereotypical blue fish like so many Peacocks are. They are predominantly tangerine in color with blue accenting the middle of the body. Good examples of these are always highly sought after so these will not be here long. But if you are looking for a mostly blue fish them we got you covered plenty there. THE bluest fish on the farm right now has to be the Red Shoulder Peacock followed closely by the Maulana Bicolors. But not to be outdone the large Hap Moorii and Taiwan Reef are about as bright as I've ever seen. Large Venustus while not always displaying just blue coloration certainly belong in this conversation. And Last but definitely not least is my favorite Malawi addition, Otopharynx Tetrastigma. This is a very uncommon Haplochromine type that we have not had in years if ever. These are in at a large size and are already showing very nice color but will only get better with age. This is another species highly coveted by Cichlid aficionados and are sure to draw attention. With all that being said if you have any customers looking to fill a display tank this is the week to do it.
But it's not just all about Old Worlds this week. Got some awesome new Central/Southies this week as well. We'll start with another one that I don't believe we have had in years and that's the Herichthys Macranthus aka Black Throat Cichlid. These are running between3-4" and are just starting to show some of their adult markings. Google a pic of these as adults and you'll see why hobbyists go nuts for them. Not common at all so you'll have customers placing orders just to get a handful of these. Next up on the "haven't had in forever" category are the Rose Breasted Chanchito Cichlids. I actually bought these from here years ago when I was still in retail and was so disappointed when I couldn't get anymore of them. I could be mistaken but that may have been the last time we had them so don't make the same mistake I did and order what you can. While this next one isn't exactly the new it is a newer variation that I don't believe we've had before and that's the Tabasco Salvini Cichlid. This is a locality point variant that is significantly more colorful than the more commonly found aquarium strain that has been around for years. So with that all being said there is plenty to choose from this week. Enjoy!

| New Orange Seam Plecos are L-106, not to be confused with L-81 which is a Gold Nugget type that often bears the same name. Nomenclature aside, These much more affordable and make a great addition to any Pleco selection. These are very small but that just makes them all the more adorable. |

| Small" Royal Plecos are running bigger than average with some being downright medium size. Great value this week. |

| Exodons continue to come in about as big as I've ever seen them. While they may not be the most practical aquarium fish since there's not a lot you can keep them with they do make for a fantastic species only display. |

| Pike Cichlids are a belly crawler type which is now the new norm. But that also means they're very affordable which is what people are looking for this time of year. |

| Bumble Bee Cats are about as cute as they get. Sell much better tat the smaller size as opposed to full grown adults. |

| South American Lungfish are about the healthiest batch I've ever seen. been here for a month now and still holding up perfectly. They're on special this week too! Keep in mind these do get absolutely gigantic, so they're not something to be selling to people willly-nilly, they need an educated keeper. |

| Silver Dollars also came in this week. Been unavailable for the past couple of months but hopefully the supply will be a bit more reliable for the next few upcoming months. Most popular silver fish in the hobby. |

| Shoehead Cats might just be one of the ugliest fish on the planet. But you know what else they are...good sellers. Guess people are intrigued by a brown blob that lies motionless on the bottom of the tank lol. |

| New Rocket Gar are smaller than the last batch but that's because they just arrived. They have probably doubled in size as I am typing this> I swear this is one of the fastest growing fish in the hobby. Just be sure to feed them plenty so they don't try and turn each other into food. |

| Chili Oscars Are running a bit bigger than the last couple of batches. Definitely one of the best looking aquarium strains of Oscars. |

| EB Jacks also came in a bit oversized compared to what we usually get. If somehow you have never seen these as adults you need to google a pic of them. After that you'll want to buy all that we have in stock. |

| Flowerhorns are particularly nice this week. Most are running decent size and there are few different varieties in the mix. Even though they are on of the most aggressive fish on the planet they continue to be one of the most popular. |

| Far east raised Frontosa keep coming it oversized so this is a good time to stock up on the most popular Tanganyikan Cichlid in the hobby. |

| This week's Chili Rasboras are not Brigittae but look more likely to be Urophthalmoides. Some people care, others do not. Just want everyone to know what to expect when they order these. Can't really tell the difference without a magnifying glass. It's a great looking nano fish and that's all that really matters. |

| BB Gobies are back. Mention these every time we get them because when available they are the best selling Goby in the FW/brackish part of the hobby. Super adorable, no one can resist these. |

| Blue Badis are trying to disprove that they are nano fish. Some of these are huge (relatively speaking). But apparently the bigger they are the more camera shy they are cuz as soon as I get them in a net they look like this. Trust me when I say these about as nice as this species gets. Just don't judge them by this photo lol. |

| Dwarf Puffers. You all know the drill by now. I show them so you know we have them. Everyone buys them cuz they are ridiculously cute |

| I'm leaving the Hifin Banded Loaches in this week for those of you that missed last week's email. Somehow we still have some available which almost never happens with this species. Still got some time left in pond season which is what a lot of people buy these for. FYI if you're not familiar with these they get huge and can tolerate cooler temps which is what makes them a good candidate for garden ponds. |

| Kohaku Koi Swords are almost always female heavy and this week's batch is no exception. But that notwithstanding they are still one of the most impressive looking swordtails on the market. |

| Found a vat of what we're calling Blue Hifin Variatus this week. We've had these come in as Redtail Blue Variatus which is a much more appropriate name as these do not have exaggerated dorsal fins as the name would suggest. But whatever you decide to call these they are one of the nicer looking livebearers this week. |

| Green Swords are sporting the black speckling of a Montezuma type. Not saying that's what these are but this is a trait hobbyists/breeders are always on the lookout for. |

| Large Red Shoulder Peacocks are either a different strain than I'm used to seeing or they aren't 100% "Red Shoulder". Either way these are super bright and very impressive. Perfect for a display tank. |

| Starting to sense a theme here as we got in Maulana Bicolor Peacocks at a large size as well this week. I'll let the pic do all the talking. If you have any customers looking to fill a display tank this is the week to do it. |

| Large Taiwan Reefs are some of the nicest I think I've ever seen. And that's saying something because this is a fish I've been carrying everywhere I've worked. These are about as bright of a blue as you can get. Yet another great candidate for display tanks for stores or service clients. |

| Got a possible new fish or at least for the first time in ages as no one here remembers having them in recent years, Otopharynx Tetrastigma. These are running around 4"+ and are showing color but like most species in this genus they need to be just a touch bigger to be in full adult color. This is one that will have the Cichlid geeks coming out of the woodwork. I can say that cuz I'm one of them lol. |

| I can't remember the last time we had this many colored up male Haps/Peacocks but in addition to everything else this week we got a restock on large Red Empress as well. This one didn't really need an introduction. Just wanted everyone to know that we have them. |

| But if you're patient and looking for something a bit more economical we also have Red Empress in a medium size this week as well. Still a ways away from coloring up but people who know what this fish is will snap them up. |

| Large Hap Moorii aka Blue Dolphin are more consistent in size this time around. All are 4"+ and showing outstanding color. And yes, these will also have representaion at Super Zoo lol. |

| And what better way to conclude a section than with one more big colorful Hap, large Venustus. These got a restock and as usual they are just freakin awesome. |
