Hey folks,
Well as you can imagine it has been a crazy busy week with the launch of the Electric Green Angels hitting and the good news is we still have plenty of inventory available. Been getting a ton of great feedback on these already and our socials continue to blow up with people asking where they can get them from. And for those of you who haven't seen them in person yet you're in luck, we will have them on display at Super Zoo in Las Vegas August 12th-15th. As usual it was another busy week of incoming, especially for summertime. Got in a nice shipment from Colombia late last night with some items we haven't seen in a while. First and foremost (as well as most limited) are the Royal Farlowellas. Great size, great fins, This is this week's "must buy". Next up are the Blue Phantom Plecos. Full transparency these are small, however they came in super healthy. Look as though they were tank raised. New batch of Bleeding Hearts also looking very healthy with good size. And even though this week is known nationally as "Shark Week" we are calling it "Knife Week around here. Reason being we got in just about every species of Knife Fish that hails from South America including Ossa, Transparent, Black and Brown Ghosts.
Far East shipments always bring us some fun goodies and this week is no exception. This time around they come in the form of inverts. I'll skip ahead to my favorite of the bunch, Thai Micro Crabs. While this isn't a new item it has been one that we have not been able to obtain in quite some time. These are one of the most sought after invertebrates in the hobby right now since nano tanks continue to reign supreme. And while I don't want to keep beating a dead horse each and every week but if you're not stocking up on each and every nano fish/invert available you are missing out on your market share. As I mentioned in one of the newsletters recently just about all we saw at LA Pet Fair was a huge focus on nano fish and planted tanks. This trend just continues to grow and if you don't believe me just take a look at social media. Tons of people posting videos and pics of their nano set-ups every day. Never fight a trend, always take advantage of it. So with that being said be sure to stock up on all things nano including this week's selection of nano fish including Scarlet and Indian Blue Badis as well as inverts like Red Crystal Shrimps and Thai Micro Crabs. And make sure you're posting these on your own social media platforms. Dollar for dollar it's the most effective form of advertising these days.
And yes my devoted readers, we have reached that part of the newsletter that I almost never skip...Florida raised Cichlids. Now this week's edition is going to be slightly different since due to unforeseen delays some of the items haven't arrived here at the farm yet but are expected in before our next ship out day. But let's start with what we do have. They might be basic but I don't think anyone can argue with the fact that Firemouths are a staple in this industry/hobby for a reason. size in manageable and color is outstanding. Regulars have been tough to come by as of late but we do have larges available this week and that is something you won't see in box stores. Offer something your customers don't see every day. And speaking of items you won't see every day we have a handful of Blue Aureus on hand this week. This is a Firemouth relative but these tend to be a bit less aggressive with some gorgeous blue speckling in the face. On the opposite end of the spectrum we got in a new batch of Managuense aka Jaguar Cichlids. These are small for now,around 1", but grow up to be one of the more aggressive members of the tank buster crowd. However if you're looking for something a bit more mellow we have some very nice small Chocolates, select Red Spot Gold Severums and of course my favorite brown fish in the world, Dimerus aka Port Cichlids. and ss I mentioned we do have some items that are expected in either later today/tomorrow. Those include 4-5" Azureus, 3-4" Rhoadesii, 5-6" Sanga Bay Red Empress and large Rainbow Cichlids.
