Hey folks,
It was great seeing everyone that was able to make it out to Super Zoo last week. It's always nice to put a face to a name. But for those of you who couldn't make it out we've included some pics of our booth. And I will say it was the coolest I think it has ever been in Vegas for this show. It was 77 the night before we left so people were actually able to sit pool side without frying like an egg lol. But at the end of the day the real star of the week was the Electric Green Angel. People were blown away by these and the number one comment I got was how great they look in person, especially when mixed with the Starfire Reds .
A lot of great stuff came in both last week while we were out of town and again this week so I hope I haven't missed anything. We'll start with Colombia. The most obvious first overall pick are the XL Royal Plecos. Holy hell these are massive. They're basically bowling balls with fins. I can honestly say they are the biggest I've ever seen in person and that includes ones a=on display at public aquariums. On the exact opposite side of the size spectrum are the small Royals. But these are probably a bit more manageable for the average person. Also running small are the newest Zebra Plecos, but that just puts them into the adorable category. And Rounding out the new Pleco entries are the Orange Seam. These are the L-106 that have almost a honeycomb pattern that surprisingly is already starting to emerge.
But it's not just about Plecos from Colombia this week. New Pike Cichlids are Belly Crawler types and the size is excellent. New Silver Dollars significantly bigger that the last couple of batches. Might have enough Silver Hatchets to last more than one day (but definitely not more than two lol). Ossa Knives are humungous, most are 8"+. Both Pygmy and Punctatus are must have staples. And last but DEFINITELY not least, we have Otos! I have no idea how long this will last so put you order in NOW!
Asia is always chocked full of goodies and this week is no exception. I'll start with my favorite addition this week, Bumble Bee Gobies. No, they're not rare or unusual. But what they are is adorable and easy to sell which is what I absolutely love about them. Opposite of them in every way imaginable are the Lemon Oscars. Very nice group this week with super bright yellow coloration and better than average size. And I know I sound like a broken record but turns out I've been right about the whole nano fish are super popular thing. That's just about all anyone was talking about at Super Zoo (as far as aquatics were concerned). So with that being said I would recommend everyone add the Redfin Rice Fish to their orders this week. Hobbyists are grabbing anything they can get. And not exactly on the small side but still small are the Samurai Gouramis. These guys defy all science and logic because for all intensive purposes these should not do as well as they do here but just about every time we get them in they hold up really well. And if it's balloons you need it's balloons we got. Restocked this week with Balloon Rams, Penguin and Red Eye Tetras. You may not like them but your customers do.
Florida raised fish is my favorite segment each and every week because there is always something to write about. But believe it or not I'm not gonna start it with a Cichlid but instead a Rainbow lol. Orange Albino Millenia are in for the first time in months. Size is average but color is outstanding. Be sure to put these over dark gravel so they can really pop. Got a handful of Super Red Bushynose bred by one of our very own team members but they are very limited. From the same individual we also got in some great looking Buffalo Heads. These used to be one of the most common West African Cichlids but have fallen into obscurity over the past decade. And one I can't believe I haven't gotten to wrote about in quite some time are the Peacock Gudgeons. Dollar for dollar one of the best colored fish money can buy.

| Ossa Knives are absolutely gigantic. Hard to tell from the pic but the patterns are really crisp on these even at this size. Could barely fist the entire thing into the frame lol. |

| Small Royals are definitely that, small. But color and striping look good and at this price point no one's gonna complain. |

| Punctatus are one of the more common staple Cories for a reason. Not only are they about the hardiest species but also one of the most attractive. |

| New Pygmy Cories are slightly bigger than the last batch. |
|
 |
| Newest batch of Pike Cichlids are Belly Crawler types which seam to be the most common variety coming out of Colombia. But they are considerably larger than the last several batches making them a fantastic value. |

| Wild Geo Surinamensis are perfect for anyone looking for a breeding project. Unlike a lot of the captive strains this is a pure bloodline and not hybridized with any other species of Geo. This is a great selling point for die hard Cichlid enthusiaists. |

| Silver Hatchets are in from Colombia for the first time in what feels like forever. We look to have a decent amount available but by decent I mean we should have enough to fill the first wave of orders so don't sleep on these. |

| Silver Dollars are coming in with some regularity now and they look to be getting a bit bigger with each batch. |
|
 |
| Zebra Plecos are definitely running small but that never seems to slow down their sales. |

| Lemon Oscars look to be coming in a bit more frequently as of late. Very nice color and running a bit over 2" on average. |

| Everybody's favorite brackish water Goby (or maybe I'm just projecting my feelings) Bumble Bees are back. While there are actually two species that are freshwater 99% of the time the ones that come in are brackish so keep them accordingly. FYI frozen foods are a must for these. I highly recommend Daphnia. |

| Redfin Ricefish came in while we were away at Super Zoo and as always they are very nice and bright. One of the things I kept hearing over and over again was how people can't get enough in the way of nano fish so here's another one to add to your inventory. |

| Samurai Gouramis also made a triumphant return during our absence, guess that means I should leave more often lo. But all jokes aside these look to be holding up great so far. Which is surprising since they are closely related to Chocolate Gouramis who tend to struggle under hard water conditions such as ours. |

| Firecracker Swordtails are the biggest, nicest swordtails we regularly get. These are breedable, unlike the Vampire Swordtails (which are a LT type), so they command a much higher price. They're worth trying out if you haven't before, especially if you sell anything online. |
|

| These are the vampire swords mentioned above. Another fancier type that we get regularly, but these males can't breed, as they're Lyretail type swords. I do like the way they look, and size is great on them, so they're not really a "hobbyist" type fish, they're just to look great in people's tanks. |

| Balloon Penguins are arguably the coolest of all the balloon type Tetras. Not sure if it's the horizontal stripe or the diptail that does it but these certainly do standout. |

| And speaking of balloons Balloon Red Eye Tetras also got a recent restock. Full transparency these are running a bit small but that just adds to the cuteness factor of these little floating bobble heads. |

| Are ya sensing a theme here, cuz I sure am. Yup, it's another balloon body fish, Rams. Haven't had these in quite a while so not only to they fit in to this week's "balloon" theme but also the "look who's back" theme. |

| Orange Albino Millenia Rainbows are back for the first time in months. About 50/50 male/female ratio but that's not a bad thing considering the females are bright yellow. |

| Got in what very well could be the best looking batch of Blue Kerri Tetras I've seen come through here. Just about the biggest I've ever seen and color is amazing. Blue Kerri always sell out quick, and when they look this good and we feature them in the email it'll be even quicker, so have your order pack Monday if you want these. |

| Lemon Tetras are coming in pretty regularly now. Size is a bit small but color is very good. |

| The most popular of the Geophagus species is back! Red Head Tapajos! They're SMALL, so please be aware of that when ordering. Less than 1.5 inches and not showing color yet, but this is the only size available to us at the moment. |

| Blue Aureus got a restock in both medium and large sizes this week. Color is great on both and this is a slightly more peaceful alternative to their Firemouth cousins. |

| Fredrichstahli aka Yellow Jacket Cichlids were a huge hit at Super Zoo this past week. While nano fish continue to be all the rage in the hobby there are still plenty of people out there that appreciate a good ole fashioned tankbuster. |

| Got Green Terrors in both regular and medium sizes this week (med pictured, Regular is about 1.25 inches) |

| Red Spot Gold Severums are back in a medium size this week. It's been nearly a month since I featured these last and I think that's a record for me lol. So for those of you who haven't heard this speech before these are Florida raised not imports, therefore no hormones. That means these fish are all natural and the color won't fade, it will only get better with time. |

| Buffalo Head Cichlids are back! We have an employee that breeds these at home and sells them to us, so these are as good of quality as you'll ever find. Bulletproof health and a very unique cichlid that you don't often see for sale. |
|

| Large Assorted Peacocks have a nice mix of both pure and hybrid strains like this blue beauty. |
|
 |
| And speaking of pure strains, found some gorgeous Sunshines in the large assorted Peacock mix. |

| 4-5" Azureus are one of if not THE best looking fish here on the farm this week. I'll put this up against any saltwater fish any day of the week. |

| Otopharynx Tetrastigma are in at an XL size this week. This was one of the most asked about fish at Super Zoo since these are very uncommon and most people are not familiar with them. It's always a good idea to stock items that your competition doesn't. |

| Assorted discus got restocked this week and look great as always! assorted 2 inch shown here. The 2 inch size mix is almost entirely mostly red fish like this one so not much variety, but they look great. |

| This is the COBALT discus. Note, these are not solid blue. If you google Cobalt Discus you'll see some that are solid blue and some that have stripes like this, and our vender calls this striped variety the Cobalt. |

| Pigeon Bloods are also available this week and looking great. This batch has very little "peppering" and great intense red color. |

| "Red Fire" Caradina shrimp. Caradinas are much touchier than Neocaradinas so please keep that in mind when ordering. If you have hard water, you'll probably do better with any of the Neocaradina species (which is literally everything on the list except for these, this week) |
