Hey Everyone,
First, just want to mention a small procedural change with our SPECIALS going forward. Nothing is going away, but we're going to start getting you the "Monday Specials" on Friday with this email and stock list. We initially started doing "monday specials" as a way to try to incentivize you to place your order on Monday with us instead of our competition, but over the years, we've gotten later and later and later getting that Monday email emailed out to you to take advantage of it, and the Monday specials just turned into "hey, here's some more specials for you". We don't want you to have to be waiting on those specials and asking your rep "when are the specials coming" to add to your order, so now we're going to just have the additional specials on the Friday stock list. They will still be in a seperate space down at the bottom of the specials page like you're used to seeing. The main takeaway for you is YOU DO NOT NEED TO WAIT FOR A MONDAY EMAIL TO ORDER ANYMORE. The only thing the Monday email will exist for now is to get you an updated Salt list and Reptile list.
Anyway, on to fish!
Lots and lots of awesome new fish in here this week for you, including lots of high-demand items that are inexpensive I think you're all going to be very excited about.
The first two items that fall into this category are both from our Colombia shipment. Habrosus Cory Cats and Peacock Bass. These used to be fairly common staples but in recent years it's been a lot tougher to find these. Habrosus are a pygmy cory that only get MAYBE 1 inch fully grown, probably less than that, so they're perfect for nano tanks. But even for larger tanks they make great options because they school tightly with each other as they skim all over the tank cleaning up leftover food. The Peacock bass are the "regular' size about 1.5 inch or so and therefore are the cheapest entry point into getting peacock bass. For those of you that have never brought in fish from another country before, what you really pay for is the bag of water, so if the supplier can fit 300 fish in that bag of water, your price per fish is much lower than if they can fit 8 fish in that box. So with fish like Peacock bass, there is a MASSIVE price jump when we order a size larger. You are much better off getting small ones like this and raising them (and they grow extremely fast).
We also got a lot of goodies from the far-east, like some more of the super-popular Dwarf Puffers. More excitingly though, we also got some cool new stuff like Samurai Gouramis and some new fancier types of Frotosa. Black Widow Frontosa are probably the coolest and most desirable Frontosa in the hobby. They get a really cool "spider web-like" pattern on their sides instead of the normal vertical bars of a typical Frontosa. We also got some "red" frontosa which are definitely a reddish coloration instead of being more of a blueish coloration, so also really neat looking.
Balloon Kissing Gouramis are back from Indo also, and were very popular last time. If you like having something super unique they're worth checking out. Also the Knight Gobies that came in a couple weeks ago had their normal weeklong period of being sick but now they're done being medicated and they're stable and on the list this week. That's another really nice and very cheap interesting oddball fish you can offer in your store.
Probably the most exciting category though this week are the Cichlids. We got some more rare stuff from Cichlids of the Americas that I'm sure a few of you are going to be very excited about. The large ones are pictured at the top of this email, Herichthys Steindachneri. They're every bit of 9-10 inches, some are larger than that. Big humps on the heads and they look incredible, and there's a 0% chance your customers have ever seen this fish for sale before. We also got some smaller fish from him this time, in the form of some Bulleri and some Cribroheros Rostratus. Both are very attractive fish when they're fully grown. The fish we have so sell to you are about 2.5-3 inches for each of those species so they've got some growing to do but mean you can get them for a non-insane price.
Also in cichlids but from the other side of the world, our African Cichlid selection got a lot better this week too. We got a nice selection of assorted FL Bred medium male peacocks, plus some specialty hybrids (all males as well) in full color. Regular sized fancy mixed mbunas are back, and have some really neat fish in the mix at the moment.
Check out the pictures and writeups about the specifics below and give your rep a call if you have any questions

Baby peacock bass are back in stock! it's been quite a while on these. No, we don't know what species they are, the supplier just sells them as "Cichla Sp." since they're impossible to differentiate when they're this size and being wild-caught.
We highly recommend keeping them in a tank absolutely full of feeder guppies. Bass at this size have a metabolism that's absolutely ravenous. They need to be eating virtually constantly or they will get skinny. Honestly even just putting them in a bag and shipping them to you for the next day will probably make their bellies look sunken. They grow EXTREMELY fast at this size, and need to eat nonstop. |
Habrosus cory are in stock for the first time in I think about 3 or 4 years. These are going to sell out, and it's not going to take long. Please don't be upset when you order 100 for Thursday pack and you don't get them. Everybody has been waiting on these to show up for years, so I expect to get lots and lots of orders for 50 to 100 each. We should probably triple the price on them so they'd last longer, but we're too nice to do that <3 |

Agassizzi cory cats are back in from Colombia this week, and the size doesn't leave much to be desired! Very nice cory cats for the price. |
Gold/Green Cory. I wish these had a different common name, becuase I think people see the Green in the name and think "oh those are just the normal green cory I always order, but they cost more", and that's not remotely true. These are a different species that is both gold and green, hence the name. |
Blue phantom plecos are available in great number and solid size. |
We feature these a lot but the newest batch of medium Royal Plecos are absolutely stunning. Crisp lines with super bright red eyes. |
Bumblebee cats are on special this week. This is a great fish to carry. They're virtually unkillable and they look cool and they're cheap. The only downside is they do hide, so having 3 or 6 in a tank looks exactly like having zero in your tank. You need 12 or 24 so that customers can see 2 or 3 out swimming around. |
Royal Farlowella are restocked. Much ticker than the standard farlowella. Most people I don't think realize how great at eating algae these are. Even a single Royal Farlowella can virtually single-handedly keep a 150 gallon tank free of algae. |
Red Frontosa are back! This is a strain we used to bring in a few years back and they sort of got forgotten about until very recently. When they get to about 3-4 inches they are very noticeably reddish in color compared to the blue of a standard frontosa. |
Black Widow Frontosa are in from Indo for the first time over a year. This is a really neat strain that has an aberrant pattern as opposed to the typical striping that you see on all other Frontosa variants. |
This is what the Black Widow Frontosa will look like with just a bit of growth. This is the last batch we got from the same supplier after they'd grown for a couple months here. |
Dwarf puffers are back in stock! This is probably the #1 most popular "oddball" type fish. If you're not carrying these in your store, frankly you're just leaving money on the table. |
Flowerhorns are looking good this week. They're not all as red as the one we took the picture of, but they look really good for being a 2 inch cichlid. They're mixed sex like always. |
Samurai Gourami are back in stock! Females actually show more color than males on this species, and they get along great in a small group, making them the perfect cool fish to keep a group of in a 10-15 gallon planted tank. |
Balloon Kissing Gouramis are back! This is one of the most balloony type mutations out there. The completely transparent tails with incredibly short bodies make them look like little floating heads. |
New batch of Spotted Puffers arrived this week and looking really good so far. Definitely on the small side but that just makes them all the cuter. |
Figure 8 Puffers have been here for a couple weeks now and look fantastic. Bright green coloration with fat bellies full of blood worms. These are as nice as they get. |
Mentioned these last week but managed to get a better pic of the Knight Gobies. Came in a little shaky but they're looking really good now and ready to ship. These do need salt in the water, similar to how you should keep your livebearers. |
TR Black Ghost knives are restocked. Perfect size, honestly, big enough to not be delicate but small enough to not eat all your neon tetras. |
Assorted medium male peacocks got restocked and the color is phenomenal on this batch. Lots of mostly blue ones in here but they look like they're "cool" variants not just regal blues. |
Another assorted medium male peacock so you can see some of the variety. Nice red color in the body of a lot of them here. |
Large mixed Mbuna have some really cool fish in the mix again, like this OB guy here. |
New Redstratus cichlids are super cool looking. This is the first time we've gotten the Redstratus at a medium size, in the past they were always very large. This is a great chance to get these unique fish at a much more reasonable price. This is a Red Empress x Rostratus hybrid. |
While not new, the assorted LG haps need to be highlighted again, as one of the best value cichlids here for the past couple weeks. |
New African CIchlid: The "Super Red Dino Hap". There's a little bit of variation in them, putting a second photo below so you can see. |
This is how the other "Super Red Dino Haps" look. I don't think we can guarantee you that you'll get one or the other. I also am not sure that they don't all end up looking one way or the other after they're sexually mature or something like that. They're a brand new hybrid so we don't have much information on them yet. Be there first in the country to have this new fish on offer! |
Paraneetroplus Bulleri are here for the first and probably last time! Similar to the Gibbicep cichlids we had from the same supplier a month or so ago, but arguably much better looking. These are about 3.5-4 inches at the moment, but look up the adults on google and you'll be super impressed. These are F1 fish from Dan's wild-caught stock, the real deal. |
Cribroheros Rostratus are the other new rare Central we just got. These are listed as a medium size, and they range between 2 and 4 inches so there's a bit of a range there (I assume the bigger ones are males and the smaller ones are females). This is a beautiful fish when they're mature and color up, and they're already showing the spots in the face along with color in the fins. |
Large Freckle Cichlids, still have a couple left so we're putting them on special for you. Both sizes on special. |
Medium Veil Angelfish are running larger than average and have great finnage. Definitely deserving of the veil name and have a gigantic difference between the standard fin and the veils. |
All-Male Pineapple swords are back and your best bet for a swordtail this week. You get all males, which is what you want anyway, and the price is barely higher than the mixed sex swords typically run. |
Bumble Bee Platy came in huge this week. This is one Platy everyone should be putting on their orders. |
Red Honey Gourami are super intense red color at the moment and make a perfect community fish. These dwarf gourami types are much more peaceful than the Blue or Opaline or Kissing gourami are. |
Cherry Barbs got a lot better this week. Size is above average and they're majority male. |
Just got in a batch of Gold Neon Rosy Barbs and they are some of the nicest to come through here. Size is great and the color is super bright. Only got a handful in so order early if want a shot at these. |
Deepwater Creek Rainbows are looking better than I think I've ever seen them look before. And they've always been a great looking rainbow. We would recommend calling them "firetail" or "fireball" rainbows to make them more interesting and sell quicker. It really does work. |
We ran out mid-week on black phantom tetras last week, but got more in and the new batch looks just as good as the old one. |
Orange Von Rio tetras are back to being probably the nicest tetra on the list again. Every order should be going out with these on them next week. |
Large Albino Cories are running at a very nice size and for what ever reason have been more readily available than the regulars. |
