| Brazil is here! And we got what's arguably in the running for being the coolest, most unique fish in the world in this shipment: Anableps, AKA 4-eyed-fish. These mudskipper-like prehistoric looking fish are fully aquatic, but have evolved very interesting frog-like eyeballs that sit half in and half out of the water as they float on the surface. These are also interestingly a livebearer that gets close to 10 inches long!!! Extremely cool animals that will surely turn heads in your shop and entice any collector of rare fish and anybody that wants to try home-breeding some extremely valuable and rare livebearers. |
| This is how they look in the tank, skimming the surface of the water. They're also fantastic jumpers, so a lid or low water level is a MUST |

Hey folks,
Thanks to everyone that came to see us at Global Pet Expo! Remind your sales rep you stopped by if you did, because we have a discount for you on your next order. We have a few really neat larger fish that we took to Global that all come back to the farm here and will be for sale in the Monday email.
The big news for this week is that Brazil is here! We 've been trying to get this shipment in for months, but the importation permits had been having issues on Brazil's side of things. it was worth the wait thought because we got all kinds of cool stuff and the staple fancy plecos you expect as well!
Gold Nugget Plecos are the main draw from Brazil, and we stocked up heavily with a couple hundred of those arriving. We should have enough to be able to sell them without limits, so if you want a dozen or 24, we can accomodate that for you. I think it's not a bad idea to get that many either..... compare our price to some other wholesalers' lists and you'll see you can save quite a bit of money getting these from us.
We also got some less common fancy plecos types that I'm super excited about! A "yellow edged" pleco, as well as the super popular "starlight bushynose" plecos. The starlights in particular are super big and impressive, check out the pics below on those, i think you're going to want to not miss out on them.
Also from Brazil, we got a few species of cichlids that I know are going to be hot sellers. Two sizes of Geophagus Altifrons, one of the coolest looking Geophagus species that get nice streamers on the fins as adults. We have never had wild ones before, but Florida bred this species doesn't exist anymore on a commercial scale, so this is your chance to pick them up. We also got a similarly related but even more rare cichlid, the Retroculus Lapidifer. I've got pretty detailed writeups for each on their photos down below so check it out.
From Asia this week, the big thing is that Oscars are finally back in stock. I know I've been asked every single day for a month about Oscars, so I'm glad to say they're back on the list. Hopefully we have enough to make it more than a couple days. it's hard to guess because it NORMALLY would be plenty of fish, but since nobody's had them for a while, order volume may exceed expectations.
We also had a few fish that we highlighted last week that got a price made for them and got put on the list for the first time this week, so we have those ready for you to purchase now. The two new Killifish and Reynolds Cory cats specifically come to mind.
Also, it's getting close to Pond Season for most of the country, so don't neglect your Koi availability! We have all the sizes of assortment ready to go, and I'd recommend stocking up before you think you're going to need them. If someone is ready to stock their pond and you're sold out, they're going to go buy them from someone else that DOES have them already. They're not going to wait 2 weeks on you to bring them in, most likely. |

We took this photo in our sales office without the use of any lens filters or enhancement. These are just that awesome! These will launch on May 3rd, so just around the corner. |

| Starfire Red® Angels are still shipping in good numbers |

Brazil and Colombia New PLECOS!
| The staple fish from brazil, the Gold Nugget Pleco (L018) are of course here in great numbers. We have two sizes, a regular and a "medium" which really is more like a large. This is the "medium" pictured here. I'd say they're average minimum 4 inches, probably closer to 5. Basically full grown for this species. |
| Here is the regular sized gold nugget, about 2 inches so not tiny by any stretch. The yellow coloration on their fins will be much more pronounced after they've had a day or two to settle in, i'm sure we'll put more pics in the email on Monday. |
| Very closely related to the L018 Gold Nugger, we also have the L081 Orange-Seam in 2 sizes. The mediums on these are not as big as the medium Gold Nuggets (this is the pic of the medium above), but the overall size on the regulars is a little larger than the regular nuggets. Orange Seams have smaller spots on the body and fins, but both get the same gold outlines |
| Above is the regular-sized Orange Seam, for comparison. About 2.5 inches. |
| The priciest and most desirable of the plecos from this Brazil shipment are these L114 Leopard Cactus Plecos. They're the perfect size, honestly. The price gets way, way higher if we order a size larger than this, and the smaller sizes don't look like much. These ones are big enough to have the spotty leopard pattern on both the body and fins, and the tails and dorsal are JUST starting to get that red color to come in they're known for. This is a perfect fish for any of you online sellers or shops that cater to higher-end clientele. |
| This is probably going to be the most popular pleco we got this shipment, if i had to guess.... L183 "starlight" Bushynose. They came in basically fully grown already, ready to breed. This is a holy grail bushynose species to most hobbyists, with their jet black body and striking bright white tips on the dorsal and tail fins. The coloration is even more apparent on the young as they grow up (which is usually the only size you can buy them at). This is really a pretty rare opportunity to get adults of this species, and I gotta say, they look absolutely perfect. Males have a little bit more pattern on the body, but also have that nice bushy nose that they're named for (female pictured). |
| Last but certainly not least for the Brazilian Plecos, we have this new species to us, the L067 "Yellow-Edged" Pleco. its tough to tell in the picture, now that I look at it, but they have a flatter body shape compared to the rest, these are clearly a rapids/rapid flowing river type pleco, so I'm sure they'll do better in harder water that's not riddled with tannins compared to some of the other pleco species. They also probably require a bit more oxygenation to remain active and healthy, so turn the air stone way up on their tank if you don't have a saltwater-style powerhead to get some flow going. Color is absolutely great, and sort of reminds me of a L14 Sunshine pleco, but for a fraction of the price! |
| Flash Plecos aka Emperor Pleco aka L-204 got missed on the stock list last week. These were from the Peru shipment, so have been here a couple weeks now and holding up great. |
| Galaxy Plecos got restocked this week, so still available! Size is fantastic on these. They're pretty mean to each other, so their fins are a little ratty to be honest (as you can see in the picture). This does not hurt them at all, they're perfectly healthy and the fin damage will regrow in just a couple of weeks once you've bought one and have it separated in your store. |
The other non-pleco new stuff
| This is the fish I got to add to the order that we wouldn't normally buy, and I'm glad the bosses listened to me, as they came in absolutely perfect! Laetacara Aruguaiae, AKA "Yellow Smiling Acara". These are closely related to the Curviceps we have had on the list a lot lately, but this species for some reason has never garnered widespread aquaculture interest. I think they look way better than the more common Curviceps, so i'm not sure why. These dwarf cichlids only get about 4 inches at the absolute max, and are perfect for planted tanks, totally ignoring your plants. You can bet I'm taking a pair or two of these home myself tonight for my fish room. |
| Anostamus are in from Colombia for the first time in several years! They are a solid 2-3 inches, and will make a great oddball type schooling fish for your store. These are considered semi-aggressive, similar in temperament to tiger barbs, so are great choices for a dither fish in a south american cichlid tank, or with larger more boisterous tankmates. |
| Wild Geophagus Altifrons are here from Brazil in two sizes. This above is the Medium, and as you can see their color is already coming in very nicely. These came in way oversized compared to the centimeter listing the supplier had on their list. Very, very nice opportunity to get a group of this sought-after Geophagus. |
| Here is the regular size Altifrons. The color hasn't started appearing yet on this size, other than a little bit of yellow in the fins. I think the mediums are the way to go if you're ok with paying a little more for the instant gratification. |
| Rare fish alert!!! Retroculous Lapidifers also came in from Brazil. These are very closely related to Geophagus, and are similarly nonaggressive towards tankmates. These, like the Laeacaras I already showed you, are from the clear-water rivers of Southeast Brazil.... so they do NOT need blackwater or low PH water! They actually prefer and do much better on a sandy bottom with higher PH and harder water, so they'll do great in most stores. They do like a good amount of flow, if possible |
| Every time we restock Firecracker Swords we have to put them in the email, since they're objectively speaking the best looking livebearer in stock any time they're in stock. Don't let the high price keep you away, they're extremely popular online, i see website sellers with these in the $40-50 dollar range regularly, with listings being sold for that price. |
| Assorted Oscars are finally back! I know everyone's been waiting on these. You'd think such a common fish would never have availability issues, but we haven't gotten any in over a month before now. |
| Black Tiger Badis got a restock. Males and females are included, and they're much easier to tell apart in this species than the Scarlet Badis. |
| Large Hump Flowerhorns are still here, and I realized we didn't put a picture of them in the email last week. Here's one of them. Color is fantastic, humps are huge, these should be easy to move to flowerhorn enthusiasts. |
| My favorite little killifish is in after 5 years of waiting! Clown/Rocket Killis are in stock!! These beautiful little fish are hardy, easy to breed, and active, always out and near the surface. They make literally perfect nano fish. These were shown off last week, but we didn't have a price, so i'm leaving this picture in for those of you that were looking for them |
| Reynoldsi Cories we also didn't have a price for last week, so showing them off again as we haven't had a chance to actually sell any yet. These have been settled for 2 weeks now and are tank raised ,so should be hardy cory cats. |
| It's almost Pond Season! Don't forget to stock up on Koi. You don't want to be playing catchup when people start coming asking, you need them already in stock so people don't go buy them from somewhere else that does. |
| XL Gouramis are still coming in weekly to my surprise, and are the most impressive community fish on the farm. You should definitely be buying these, people love big versions of common fish. |
| Regular sized black rams got a restock, looking super nice. |
| Rasbora Hets are Florida bred, large and look great, healthy and active. This is one of the best looking schooling fish that always schools tightly. |
| Gold MM platies are the best platy this week, great size and color. |
| Got Tanganyikan Killies in for the first time in and years. And instead of these being fragile far east imports these were actually tank raised right here in Florida by one of our team members. This is a pic of one of his breeders. What we have available are1.5-2" and just starting to show color. This is a collector's item that people are out hunting for. |
| Bloodfin Tetras are running pretty large at the moment, |
| Bleeding Hearts from Peru are still in stock, great size! |
| Serpae Tetras are running larger than average still. |
| Everyone forgets about Diamond Tetras. These are one of the best looking tetras that are always available. |
| Gold Pristellas are also running way oversized right now. |
| Large Mbsobos are absolutely fantastic! |
| Large mix Peacocks have no end of amazing fish for your rep to pick for you. Order with confidence. |
| All pictures of discus are of the 2.5-3 inch size. Please, buy this size, not the cheaper ones. These are twice as nice for $5 more. |
| Medium Green Phantoms are in stock, and we have the price wrong on our list so take advantage of it while you can! For some reason the mediums are cheaper than the smalls on the list right now. |
| Wild caught Julii Cory from Peru are somehow still in stock, I thought for sure we would run out of these last week. |
| Pygmy Cory Cats got a much larger restock this week. We are limiting these to 50 per order. |
| Upside down cats are running great size still and go criminally under-ordered. One of the best Synodontis catfish species, they are impossible to kill, peaceful, and great cleanup crew. |
| Everyones favorite cheap oddball cat are back in stock this week, the Whiptail! Similar to Farlowellas, they're good scavengers and look very unique. |
