Yellow Blaze Lithobates look absolutely stunning!  Got a decent number of these guys in for this week, along with several other nice big full color cichlids you'll see further down the email.

    News & New Items
    Hey folks,

Before I forget please be sure to check the attached pricelist for next week's shipping schedule.  In short, we are closed Monday, so Tuesday is acting like a Monday.  We will be able to put your orders in on Tuesday morning to pack on Tuesday AS LONG AS WE HAVE THE ORDER ON MONDAY.  So please submit your orders Monday for your sales rep to get into the system first thing Tuesday morning to pack on Tuesday for you.

And while it is a shorter week coming up due to the holiday that doesn't mean we didn't get plenty of new fish. Oddly enough we're going to start with livebearers for what I think is the first time ever since I've been doing this. Pink Comet swords are back after literally years. I used to buy these from here when I was still in retail and they are just as impressive as I remember them. One of the only Swordtail strains with twin bar markings. Color is very bright and unlike any other sword I have ever seen, so happy these are back. We also got in what the supplier is calling "Tiger" Swords. These were usually referred to as Marble Swords but nomenclature has a tendency of changing in this hobby/industry. Size is also really nice on these and while most of them are predominately black/white/green some also have a bit of orange to them. And not to be outdone by their sword sporting cousins, Platies got a new addition this week with the Neon Green Wag. We have had something similar to this in the past but this is from a different supplier so they look quite a bit different. Check out the pic down below and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Far East imports always bring us some fun goodies and this week did not disappoint. My favorite is actually a South America native but is being tank raised out of Indo and that would bring us to the Adolfoi Cories. These are one of the coolest and dare I say most colorful of all Corydoras species. While at a glance they resemble a Metae or some other "Bandit" type these have the distinction of having a bright orange cap atop the center of their head. And Speaking of orange we got in a new version of Red Paradise which look to be more peach/orange color than their name would suggest. Along that same color spectrum Choprai Danios got a restock this week and they are as nice as ever.

There was no short supply of scavengers coming in from Asia this week. Best looking award goes to the Sewellia Hillstream Loaches. We never get enough of these and they almost always sell out immediately so order accordingly. Redtail Botias also got a restock this week. If you have customer than need a nuisance snail solution then here's the answer. And unlike some species once these have eradicated said issue they will make themselves very useful as part of a clean up crew. It's almost impossible to overfeed a tank when these guys are in the mix. But if you're looking for something that clear out everything from the tank then look no further than the Redtail Cats. These river monsters will eat just about anything including fish almost as big as themselves lol.

Still have a really good selection of South American gems available. First and foremost are the XL Royal Plecos. These are huge show pieces that are perfect for anyone looking to add to a display tank. Pairing well with them would be the large Red Pikes. These are about as big and bold as it gets, and they're on special to make them an easier pill to swallow on the invoice.. And while I already mentioned the Royals we still have plenty of other great looking Plecos this week including Zebra, Green Phantom, Adonis, Green Spot Ancistrus and wild Bushynose.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend! Reach out to your rep if you have any questions.

    South America
Sunset Apistos are one of the best looking wild apistos that consistently come in with great size and color.  Even the females have color on this species, so there's nothing to be disappointed about on these.
New cory, the "blochi" are probably not actually Blochi, but whatever they are they look fantastic.  These are super active, they look healthier than any other cory cat i've ever seen here, so that alone makes them worth the price.  But they're also HUGE and very good looking as a bonus.  You should be buying these.
If you don't want the Blochi above, the Punctatus are also great size this week.
Still have a couple of the XL Royal plecos left.
Not the most exciting fish in the world, but the spotted raphael cat is a hobby staple for a good reason.  They're extremely hardy, don't eat their tankmates, and clean up the bottom of any leftover food.
These "flat head spotted cats" are something we haven't had in a few years, so if you're one of the many stores that has asked us for oddball interesting catfish lately, I hope I see these on your order.  They're sort of like a larger pictus cat with huge whiskers and they're very active in the tank so they won't hide from your customers.
Green Spotted Ancistrus (Bushynose) came in from Peru again but this time at a significantly larger size. Not huge but definitely bigger than last time and still showing the bright green spots for which they're named.
Colombian Zebras are always the best looking fancy pleco for the money.  If you didn't know what fancy plecos SHOULD cost, you would expect to pay more for these than a green phantom, probably, but yet they're a third the price of a green phantom.
Most of the Adonis Plecos are a bit bigger than this but I was in a hurry and he was the first one I could catch.
The red pikes on special are monstrous and solid super bright red.  About a foot long or so.  True show quality specimens.
Wild Bushynose are much bigger than the last couple of batches.
Fresh batch of Green Phantom Plecos got a bit more size to them this time around.
Pygmy Cories could not have come back in at a better time as we just sold out of the last batch. Couldn't get quite as many this time around so don't snooze on these.
    Asia Imports
Adolfi Cory are back, tank raised from Asia.  These are always one of the most popular cory cat that sells out quickly for good reason.  They have more color than most cory cats, with that orange spot on their heads, and being tank raised for a very reasonable price makes them an easy sell.
Red Tail Botias are NOT a peaceful community fish, I'd label them as semi-aggressive, best suited to tanks of barbs, Gouramis, Cichlids, etc.  Its hard to find a better fish at eradicating pest snails though, so a popular choice for stores is to keep a couple of these in your tanks you sell your plants out of.
Frontosa cichlids are back in stock.  Have both these normal frontosa and the "red" variety.  We get asked a lot "which locality are the frontosa on the list that just say "frontosa"".  And the answer to that question is "Theres no locality listed because nobody has any idea where the broodstock for these came from, they're just a tank raised aquarium strain".
Electric Blue Rams have been in very short supply lately, not sure why since they've always been such a staple in the hobby.  Get them while you can, it seems like we get them for a week then get cut on our orders for a month straight until they come back again.
Knight Gobies are one of the larger goby species. These are a brackish fish, so would do best in tanks with some aquarium salt.  Mollies, puffers, monos, scats, etc would make the best tankmates for them in a setup like that.
Choprai Danios are still coming in super large and colored up, making them the best option for nano tanks we have at the moment.
Red Paradise Gouramis are back in stock, from a new supplier this time, and this new supplier's strain of this fish looks WAY better than the ones we were getting before.  The body has more blue in it, and the red is a more sunset orangish color, very pretty.
Sewellia Hillstream Loaches are going to sell out on Tuesday like always.  Best looking loach out there.
Blue Neon Gobies are back in stock!   Not many available, so they'll probably go quick.
    Cool Stuff
Peninsula Newts are back in stock!  These were a huge hit when we brought them in a couple weeks ago, and were finally able to get more.  This is a seasonal thing, and we won't always be able to get them.  I'd highly, highly recommend loading up on these while you can.
We keep forgetting to put longfin leopard danios on the list, and we just got this awesome photo from our resident photographer so figured you should see it.
Mixed male Medium rainbows have Bosemani in the mix this time!  Looking like a great mix this week.
here's the new "green neon wag platy".  Very cool looking, but be aware the body is more of a yellowish color than really green.  I think they look better like this personally, green would be too dark i think.
Kohaku Koi swords are still running big.  Great time to pick these up, because sometimes they're half this size for the same price.
Here's the new "Pink Comet" swordtail.  The twinbar look on the tail is in both the males and the females and the body is truly pink.  Very cool!
And here's the new "tiger sword".  Most are the white and greenish black marbled color, but some have some orange in them like pictured.
    Tetras
orange Von Rios are running huge, great time to stock up on these for the summer.
Everyone's (I assume) favorite tetra is back!   Candy Cane (HY511)!  Size is respectable and color is as you'd expect.  These always sell super well, and if you're not bringing this fish in you're missing out.
Glowlights are absolute giants this week. This pic is not an exaggeration, this is about as big as they get. Color will really pop once they're over some substrate.
Red Phantoms got restocked, size is still very average for this fish, which is way below average for most tetras.
    Cichlids
Regular sized Heckeli are oversized, close to 3 inches!
Jumbo Heckelli are back and extremely impressive!  I think he had only 6 or 7 of these, but they have full streamers.
4 and 5 inch Brasiliensis are still in stock, and showing tons of bright blue coloration.
Got in a larger size of Freidrichstahli cichlids, 4 inch.  Showing tons of yellow color, proving why their common name of "Yellow Jacket Cichlid" is appropriate.
Here's something that you don't see too often anymore.... regular sized green terrors!  haha.   eems like we can get big ones easier than normal ones nowadays.
Speaking of big green terros, we have both 4 and 5 inch available this week.
    Old World Cichlids

Phochilus "star sapphire" are already showing color on a few of the males in the mix.  Great time to pick these up.
XL Peacocks have a ton of amazing, full colored males to pick from for you, like this insignis/empress/peacock/whatever hybrid this is.
Another example of a fantastic fish in the XL peacock mix.
Fancy Medium Mbunas got a restock (along with large)
    More fancy mix Medium Mbunas.
For whatever reason we haven't had OB Red Zebras in quite sometime. The local strain we get is about as nice of one as there is out there. Already tangerine at about 1.75" which means they're just gonna be that much richer in color as adults.
    1" eupterus
    Discus
    2-2.5" Assorted
    2-2.5" Assorted
    2-2.5" Assorted
    Inverts
Pagoda snails are one of your free fish options this week!  You'll be hard pressed to find a cooler looking freshwater snail.
Red Spotted Nerites are finally back!  These are the best looking nerite snail out there, and for some reason they're the cheapest too.  Also known as "red racers", if you've had customers asking you for racer nerites, this is what they want.
Assorted Rabbit Snails have a very good variety of snails in the mix.  Note, not all are actually true rabbit snails, some are "volcano" or "faunus" snails (the shell is smooth instead of with the rough ridges, but otherwise they're basically the same).
New black and white shrimp came in, and we don't get these often.
